sfick - simple file integrity checker
a simple file integrity verification tool - coming soon to a box near you...

sfick (pronounced as "s-fick") is a two part software system whose function is to assist system administrators with the process of verifying the integrity of critical files. Given a system compromise, system administrators must be able to verify the integrity of any files they designate as critical and, if such files have been modified in any way, the ability to restore an original copy of such a file. sfick provides for this service. Through the Java GUI interface the user decides which files are important enough to designate as critical. Backup copies of all selected files along with verification information will then be written to a write-once medium (such as a CD-R). Then, using this archived information, the integrity of those critical files can be verified at any future date using the Perl integrity verification program.
